About Richard Moorfield
Richard is a registered clinical psychologist with a background working with children, adolescents, adults and families in community mental health, education, public outpatient, disability, and private practice settings across Tasmania and Western Australia.
He aims to provide a safe, empathic and exploratory space for those that he works with, offering counselling and psychotherapy to adults experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. Working from a psychodynamic framework, treatment seeks to promote positive change through a shared understanding of the underlying causes of your current difficulties. Where appropriate he may integrate other evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioural, mentalisation-based and emotion-focused therapies.
Richard is interested in working with individuals who are committed to longer term work, and who might have tried other therapy approaches without finding what they need.
